A Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Member of parliament for Akyem Swedru Constituency, Kennedy Osei Nyarko has stated that Ghana will be in a “deep shit” should Ghanaians make any mistake of returning the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC)  to power in the future  if all the party has is Cassiel Ato Forson, MP for Ajumako/ Enyan/ Esiam and Isaac Adongo, MP for Bolgatanga Centra as their best pair of ‘economic gurus’.

Mr. Osei Nyarko’s statement follows statements made by the two at the  Economic Lecture Series organised by the opposition NDC. The lecture was to respond to a town hall meeting organised by the government’s economic management team and addressed by the vice President, Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia on the country’s economy.

In a facebook post, the Akyem Swedru legislator stated that “If all the NDC has is Hon. Adongo and Ato Forson to respond to Bawumia PhD then Ghana will be in deep shit should Ghanaians make any mistake of returning the NDC to power in the future.”

The ‘deep shit’ post from the Deputy Minister did not go down well with his followers. This made one of them prompt him under the post to change the “deep shit” to ‘big trouble’, an advice which the deputy minister took in good faith.

Mr. Osei Nyarko then changed the post to “If all the NDC has is Hon. Adongo and Ato Forson to respond to Bawumia PhD then Ghana will be in big trouble as a country should Ghanaians make any mistake of returning the NDC to power in the future.”

The NDC’s lecture took place at the Mensvic Hotel at East Legon in Accra on the theme ‘Ghana’s rising fiscal risks, financial crunch and external vulnerabilities: A post-mortem of the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) Programme and a preview of the economy without the International Monetary Fund (IMF).”

Concert Party

Meanwhile, Journalist and Host of Badwam on Adom TV, Omanhene Kwabena Asante, has described the lecture of the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central at the Economic Lecture Series organised by the opposition NDC as a lecture full of ‘Concert Party’ which is performed at the National Theatre.

According to him, the first three speakers on the day said nothing substantial. He said apart from John Jinapor who raised some pertinent issues, the whole Economic Lecture Series was meaningless.

“My expectation from their almighty Adongo was not this crèche lecture. What did Adongo tell Ghanaians….he was speaking to himself”, ‘angry’ Omanhene said on Ekosii Sen on Asempa FM.

“A lead speaker……when the lead speaker of the government’s Economic Management Team had to table a lot of things to prove that they are working……you came to give out innuendos…..is that what we need?” he quizzed.
