The Anglican priest, Rev Fr Balthazar Obeng Larbi, seen kissing three female students of the St. Monica’s College of Education in Asante Mampong in a viral video has apologized and shown remorse for his indecent act.
The priest in a statement of apology said his actions are unjustifiable. He added that he didn’t think through his behavior before acting and therefore pray for forgiveness from all including the girls and their families.
Human touch
According to the priest, the said act was an attempt to add a human touch after three students seen in the video had performed extraordinary well and were therefore called to be appreciated by the school’s chaplain during the school’s church service appreciation of the level 300 students. He added that he seemed to have taken a number of things for granted.
“Accordingly, I am sincerely sorry for my actions seen in the video. I sincerely apologize to my Archbishop, the entirety of the Anglican communion, the college, the affected students and their families including the general public for my actions. I pray for forgiveness from all and sundry and plead that you hold me in your prayers during this trying times,” he said in the statement.
He admitted that his act was morally bad and it’s setting are wrong too even in the absence of Covid-19.
