The Chief Executive Officer of Community Hospitals in Ghana, Mr. Alexander Akwasi Acquah has advised people who have managed to make it in life to help build their communities by ignoring those who will criticise them of doing such things in order to gain political grounds.

He said, many wealthy and  benevolent people both in Ghana and abroad have the passion of helping build the country. He however said, such such benevolent people sit back because any attempts to help their communities are viewed with political lenses by people in the communities. He stated that such thought discourages people to take up the responsibilities of helping to build their comunities.

Mr. Acquah said this during a handing over ceremony organised to hand over a brand new modern Basketball court to St. Anthony’s Catholic school at Akim Oda in the Eastern Region.

The modernised basket ball court was built by Dr. Kofi Oteng Bawuah, an American based Ghanaian.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Oteng Bawuah said his intention  for the project which was to promote basketball in the country. He appealed to Ghanaians to take a critical look at basketball aside from football which is cherished most in the country.

The Catholic Bishop for Koforidua diocese, Rev. Bishop Joseph Afrifah Agyekum thanked Dr. Oteng on behalf of the school and appealed to Ghanaians to emulate the habit of giving back to their communities.
