The General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party, John Boadu, has asked members of the party in the Ashanti Region to discharge their mandate diligently in spearheading the party’s campaign in its foremost “political world bank”.
According to Mr Boadu, massive votes for the party from the region will cement the NPP’s second-term victory in this year’s general election.
Speaking at the inauguration of the party’s regional campaign team yesterday, Mr Boadu said an emphatic victory from the region will vindicate the confidence that has been reposed in the campaign team by the NPP leadership.

The Ashanti Regional campaign team is chaired by the regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, with all 16 regional executives of the party as members. Other members of the team include the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Opare; the Agric Minister, Dr Owusu Afriyie; the Ashanti Regional Minister and his Deputy; the CEO for YEA, Justin Kodua; the Managing Director of ECG, Kwame Agyemang-Budu; and Nana Ama Poku Kufour, the deputy CEO for Exim Bank, among others.
“Operation 47/47”
Chairman Wontumi, as the regional chairman is popularly known, assured the party that the team will work hard to win all the 47 parliamentary seats in the region.
He added that the region had launched “Operation 47/47”, intended at executing the agenda of capturing all the seats in the region.
He appealed to the members of the party and the people in general to continue to repose their confidence in the NPP, which, according to him, is the only party in Ghana that is able to deliver prosperity to the Ghanaians.
