The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly under the able leadership of Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh, MCE for the Municipality on Friday, 23rd August, 2019 empowered another 24 people living with disabilities in his Municipality.

The Empowerment initiative is part of the new policy directive under the current government in quest to rather make the PWDs self sufficient than their usual dependence on others for a living.

This batch of Empowerment supports is the 5th batch of PWDs being supported in the Municipality making 158 beneficiaries in total since 134 PWDs were supported in the previous 4 batches.

They received items ranging from building materials, Bags of Maize, 7 Containers to set up shops, bags of Charcoal, Poly Tanks and the beneficiaries who received Deepfreezers were also in addition give Ice Chests and 25 bags of Water to start their businesses.

Hon. Simon Kweku Tetteh in his address assured the leadership of the PWDs Association in his Municipality of his maximum commitment to support more of their members to help them off the streets and do something better with their lives.

He continued to say that, the next phase of this all important initiative is planning to take the support to the beneficiaries in their various localities to save them the inconvenience moving the items.

He concluded by cautioning the current and previous beneficiaries to put the Empowerment supports into positive uses to better their standards of living than to sell them and spend the money as the ruling New Patriotic Party under the leadership of H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is committed to support them the more.

The President of the PWDs in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality expressed his heart felt appreciation to the Hon. MCE and the President of the Republic of Ghana for thinking about their welfare as he concluded by saying Thank you Mr. President.
