The National Youth Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party Henry Nana Boakye has stated that when it comes to achievements, the opposition NDC’s eight years in power cannot be compared to the two years of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government.
He said, although the government has not been able to achieve all of its promises, the NDC is not a competition when it comes to achievements in government.
According to the NPP youth organiser, policies such as NABCO, Free SHS, NEIP among others are feats that no government has ever attained within its first two years in power.
Mr. Boakye said that while the Mahama government supported just 69 people under the Youth Entrepreneurship Support Program within 8yrs, the NPP has supported 1350 young people  under the redefined program into the  National Entrepreneurship Innovative Program headed by John Kumah with a minimum support of GHC10,000 and maximum support of GHC100,000 each.
He added that while the erstwhile Mahama administration cancelled the trainees allowances, the NPP government has restored the Trainees allowances and has also cleared all arrears owned by the scholarship secretariat under the Mahama administration.
He said whiles Mahama only paid GHC4.5 for basic school pupils, the NPP government has increased the capitation grant by over 100% from Ghc4.5 to Ghc10.
Again, he stated that under the Free SHS policy which was vehemently opposed by the NDC, not only have parents been relieved from the burden of school fees leading to the relief of students but the policy has also led to the creation of some 45,000 jobs for the youth.
Mr. Boakye stated that, within the two years of the Akufo-Addo  government, a whooping Ghc42million has been paid for the registration of BECE Candidates in the country.
He added that so far 11,500 Youth have been employed in the Youth in Agric program with an estimated 33,000 projected to be employed this year.
Mr. Boakye made the assertion when speaking at the maiden edition of the party’s “The Youth Must Know Series” at Koforidua yesterday Monday 22nd July, 2019.
The Youth Must Know Series
The Youth Must Know series is a program instituted by the party’s youth wing to tell the youth of the country about the sterling performance of the party.
The Series according to the party’s National Youth Organiser will be held across all constituencies and regions in the country to “set the record straight” on the achievements of the party.
According to Nana B, these and many are the reasons why the NDC will not want the campaign to be on issues but added that the NPP youth wing will continue to draw the 2020 campaign to campaign of issues.
