The Patriotic Gents (PG), a youth group within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has congratulated Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye, Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, on his nomination as a Deputy Minister for Health.

The group, in a statement signed by its director of communications, Kwabena Berma Pobi, said it considers the nomination of the MP, who is also the patron of the group, as long overdue.

The statement therefore thanked President Akufo-Addo for the opportunity given him.

The group also assured Dr Okoe-Boye of its continued support whenever needed.

The President, on Monday April 6, named Dr Bernard Okoe-Boye as Deputy Minister of Health-designate.

If approved by Parliament, Dr Okoe-Boye will take over from Alexander Kodwo Kom Abban, MP for Gomoa West.

Mr Abban has also been moved to serve as Deputy Minister of Communications, taking over from Vincent Sowah Odotei, whose appointment has been revoked by the President.

A statement signed by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Presidency, said, “President Akufo-Addo is hopeful that Parliament will expedite the vetting of the Deputy Minister-designate for Health, so he can assume his office as quickly as possible.”
