The Greater Accra Regional Youth Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Mr. Moses Abor has thrown his support behind the Minister of State at the Presidency in Charge of National Security, Mr. Bryan Acheampong and the head of Operations at the National Security, Col Michael Opoku,as the call on the two to resign increases.
According to Mr. Abor the skills and speed with which the two managed to prevent the ‘NDC’s AZORKA BOYS’ from causing harm to voters during the recently held Ayawaso by-election deserves commendation rather than condemnation
The two have come under intense pressure to resign following the violence that characterised the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election held on Thursday, 31st January, 2019.
Mr. Acheampong had claimed responsibility by the actions of some national security operatives which led to some shooting incidence at the Bawaleshie residence of the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for the constituency Mr. Delali Brempong.
The NDC boycotted the election and has since called on the head of all the security chiefs in the country.
A pro-opposition demonstration has been held to further cement the call for the sacking of the security chiefs especially the Inspector General of Police and the Minister of State in Charge of National Security.
But in a statement, Mr. Abor stated that, the swift response to the security situation on the ground by the the two have sent shivers down the spines of the NDC hence the deliberate ploy by the opposition party to try to use the media to push for their resignation.
Mr. Abor added that the attempt to push for the resignation of the two is a ploy deliberately perpetrated by the NDC in order for them to be able to maneuver their ways through the 2020 general elections.
He however said that the two men have showed that they have the future of this country at heart and care about the youth.
For this reason, Mr. Abor said the NPP will not sit down for the NDC to set any negative agenda for the government and the country.
He has therefore declared unflinching support of the Greater Accra youth Wing of the NPP for the two men and has pleaded with the president not to touch the two.
