Krontihene of Akyem Kotoku Traditional area(in fugu), the MP (in African Print) and the MCE for the area (with shirt tacked in) leading the sod cutting process

The Member of Parliament for the Akyem Oda Constituency and the Chairman for the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education, William Agyapong Quaittoo, has cut sod for the construction of some four projects in his constituency. The four projects are an Ultramodern KG block and six Unit Classroom Block for Akyem Oda salvation Army Primary School, six Unit Classroom block for Akyem Aboabo Salvation Army School and  20 Seater Water Closet Toilet Facility for Oda Senior High School.

The KG Block and the two six unit classroom blocks shall be funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) while the 20 seater toilet facility shall be funded from the MP’s Common fund.

Cost

The KG Block is expected to cost some GHC300,000 while each of the six unit classroom blocks will cost GHC450,000 with the toilet facility costing some GHC160,000. All prices of the project are standard prices which were determined by the GETfund.

Addressing the people at the sod cutting ceremony, the MP thanked the Chiefs and people of Akyem Oda for their support for the Akufo-Addo government. He assured them of the government’s commitment to building a prosperous nation through access to quality but free Education and urged them to continue to support the government for more of such projects.

The Way Forward

The MP after the sod cutting joined the Krontihene of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Obrempong Gyamfi Saforo Kyere II and the people of Akyem Oda to “discuss the way forward with respect to development in the constituency.” Some of the key issues discussed include agriculture, some government flagship programs and policies, education among others.
