The National Lottery Authority (NLA) says it’s official short code *890# remains the safest and legal platform to play the NLA 5/90 and VAG Lotto Games” on the various telecommunication platforms in the country currently.
“The robustness and transparency of the *890# official short code is matchless,” the NLA has stated.
The Authority activated its official short code to give opportunity to the staking public to play 5/90 and VAG Lotto Games via MTN, Vodafone and AirtelTigo.
The initiative is to mitigate the shortfall of sales by lotto marketing companies due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. It is the only platform with multiple games of NLA 5/90 and VAG Lotto.
According to a statement from the public relations unit of the NLA, within the few days of the implementation of the short code, the access rate has been phenomenal.
“A lot of players have won with instant prizes through their respective Mobile Money Accounts,” said the Authority.
The Authority has therefore urged the staking public and lotto marketing companies to continue to play in order to support the government and the Authority to achieve more.
