Pastor Gifty Frimpong

A student of the University of Cape Coast Medical School, Gifty Frimpong, has been ordained as the youngest pastor by the Assemblies of God Church at the 2020 graduation ceremony.

This comes days after she completed a four-year-intensive studies at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, South campus, at Kormantse in the Central Region.

As part of her ministerial endeavour, Pastor Gifty Frimpong is expected to undergo a one-year housemanship at the Jehovah Jireh Assemblies of God Church at Adenta Japan Motors.

Sacrifices

Addressing the graduating students, the Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Ghana, Rev Prof Frimpong Manso, acknowledged the sacrifices that both faculty and students had made over the years, especially in 2020, which he described as the year of the Coronavirus.

“In spite of the challenges, you have weathered the fierce storm to be able to graduate. As gospel ambassadors, you have been trained and equipped with all you need for a successful ministry work. The seminary has given you a broad knowledge enough to allow you to adapt to a wide range of real-life ministry situations. Out there in your ministry life, you will have your low and high moments but do not renege in your resolve to live above reproach in serving Christ Jesus” he said.

“I can promise you that you will never go astray or have problems with any authority, as long as you stay within the context of scripture. Wherever you find yourselves, I expect nothing but the best in your respective endeavours. Shy away from unnecessary comparison  and competition; and do not follow the attributes  of those charlatans. Instead of perambulating like a spirit complaining bitterly against AG or your leaders, put your hands to the wheel and trust God for a turnaround in your area of ministry,” he added.

The president of the seminary, Rev John Kwabena Boachie, asked the newly ordained pastors not to lord themselves over their colleagues and members.
