THE Upper Manya Krobo District Assembly in the Eastern Region has supported 57 hairdressers and Beauticians in the area with logistics.

 

The beneficiaries include; 20 hairdressing apprentices who received standing hairdryers, and 32 others who are the ‘Masters’ also received Hair-Washing Basin, while five other ‘Barbers’ also received Berbering equipment sets which comprise of shaving machines, sterilizers among others.

The beneficiaries were among the Hairdressers and Beauticians Association in the District who successfully completed a one-week intensive training workshop to improve upon their styles.

The DCE for the area, Felix Nartey Odjao, speaking at a grand durbar held at the Asesewa Market Square congratulated the participants for being part of ‘this all-important training program which had been put together by their mother association.’

He explained that the ruling New Patriotic Party is fully committed to transforming the country Ghana for the better, that’s why the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led government is always ready to support individuals who are doing their own businesses.

The DCE concluded by informing the gathering that the Assembly and other development partners are ready to support the youth in the district to acquire more self employable skills.

He noted that the District Assembly has in collaboration with The Hunger Project organized a training for 29 schoolgirls in the District to be trained in dressing Making coming next month.

 

Mr. Kwame Ampim, the Regional President of Hairdressers and Beauticians Association also said the support given to their members in the District.

 

He added that it will serve as a great source of motivation especially to the apprentices who are currently learning different trades thinking of how to establish themselves.
