The President for the Western North Society for the Physically Challenged, Mr. Samuel Kwabena Kwablah has expressed wory about how the physically challenged has been denied access to basic Health care in the region.
According to him, the situation is sad and has asked for private participation in solving issues affecting the disabled in the region.
He underscored the need for the disabled to channel their energies into project and activities that will help build the Communities and the nation as a whole.
It’s very necessary to champion the campaign for a good livelihood for the disabled since the Government and its agents cannot do it alone.
Mr. Samuel Kwabena Kwablah disclosed this when a philanthropist, Mr. Pious Vincent Abakah single handedly registered and enrolled over two hundred (200) people living with physically challenged onto the National Health Insurance Scheme, whilst other registered cards which had expired were renewed in Sefwi Asawinso and its surrounding communities.
He commended the Management and the staff of the Sefwi Wiawso National Health Insurance Authority for the selfless job done in getting the beneficiaries enrolled onto the scheme.
The association expressed their profound gratitude to Mr Pious Abakah for his quick intervention in getting the Disabled on the National Health Insurance Scheme.
Mr. Pious Vincent Abakah however noted that the gesture is to enable them benefit and to have access to government affordable health care policy through the National Health Scheme.
“Without the help of the leadership of Ghana Society of Physically Challenged Association in the Western North region, this exercise will not have been successful,” he added.
