Deputy Information Minister, Pious Enam Hadzide, has said the government’s announcement of an alleged coup plot will not affect Foreign Direct Investment.

According to him, announcing it has rather reassured investors that government is not compromising on Ghana’s security.

He was reacting to concerns raised by security experts that the government making the foiled coup attempt public will scare investors.

They argued that the mere perception of instability in the country will exacerbate an already unstable economy.

But, the Deputy Information Minister said though he acknowledges the concerns being raised, the security agencies are up to the task.

He said it is mute for anybody to suggest that a single gun cannot destabilise the country.

Instead of rubbishing the story, Mr Hadzide said the security experts must rather interrogate the issues put out by the government.

He was very happy about the heightened collaboration between the security agencies, noting that, the government is committed to resourcing the security agencies to always act proactively.

Mr Hadzide said the skepticism being championed by political opponents is just a deliberate attempt to cast doubt over the elaborate plot.
