Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Richard Ofori, has revealed that he looked up to former Black Stars shot stopper Richard Kingson while he was growing up.
Ofori has signed for Pirates on a three year deal after making 85 appearances in the PSL with Maritzburg United.
According to him, the exploits of Richard Kingson inspired his development as a goalkeeper.
“I looked up to Richard Kingson, who was Ghana’s number one goalkeeper and played in England.” He said.
“Everyone wanted to be like him because he was one of Africa’s top goalkeeper,
“Growing up and meeting him as the goalkeeper’s trainer in the Black Stars, was very exciting for me.”
Richard Kingson played for the Black Stars from 1996 to 2012 and made 90 appearances for the national team.
