Chief of Akyem Achiase (in fugu) and DCE (in spectacle) cut sod for the construction of the market stores

The District Chief Executive of the Achiase District, Richmond Agyabeng Amponsah has cut sod for the construction of  24 lockable Storey building at Akyem Achiase Market for the people of the Achiase district assembly.

The stores are to ease overcrowding in the market and to alleviate the problems the traders go through using the current market especially during raining season. The market is to serve the people of Akyem Achiase and to attract people from nearby communities and districts in order to boost revenue generation for the assembly.

This is the first major project to be undertaken in the district since it was calved out of the Birim South District some few months ago.

Commissioning

 

The DCE before the sod cutting for the construction of the market, commissioned seven mechanized boreholes for the people of the Achiase Township.

Mr. Amponsah advised the people who would be in charge of the boreholes to ensure proper maintenance of the project in order to prolong its lifespan.

He assured the people that the Assembly will monitor the contractor in charge of the market project to ensure that the project is completed in record time. He pleaded with the people to continue to have faith in the Akufo-Addo government since the government will work hard to achieve all of its manifesto promises before 2020.

The chief of Akim Achiase, Dasebre Gyenin Kenteng II expressed his appreciation to the government and the DCE for the projects.

 

He advised the residents of the community to cooperate with the contractor for the work to be completed on time. He also appealed to the people to make sure the boreholes are properly maintained in order to attract more developmental projects to the community.

 

Some indigenes of Akim Achiase who were present for the commissioning and the sod cutting said they are “pleased with the performance of the DCE so far”.

 

They hailed the government for the creation of the district and the projects. They however pleaded with the DCE to work hard for more of such projects for the rapid development of the District.
