Recognition

According to the organisers, the Africa Corporate Connect initiative aims to “identify and publicly recognise worthy counterparts and cross-border partners for enterprises and institutions within and beyond the African continent.” They commended Adwoa Safo for her exceptional record of service, her unwavering advocacy for women, children, and persons with disabilities, and her enduring impact on social development.

Adwoa Safo was celebrated for her commitment to improving lives through education, healthcare, and social empowerment. During her tenure as Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, she supported hundreds of children by paying their school fees and facilitating access to healthcare. She also initiated the construction of clinics and hospitals to enhance access to quality medical services in her constituency.

As Minister of State in charge of Public Procurement, she played a pivotal role in advancing inclusivity in public contracting, ensuring that 30 percent of all government procurement opportunities were reserved for women, youth, and persons with disabilities—a policy milestone widely hailed as a game-changer in promoting equity and participation in governance.

Beyond politics and public office, Adwoa Safo continues to impact lives through the Adwoa Safo Foundation (ASF), which she established in 2014. The foundation focuses on supporting women and children with disabilities, widows, and the aged, offering various empowerment programmes and social interventions that uplift the most vulnerable in society.
