The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asene Manso Akroso in the Eastern Region,Mr George Kwame Aboagye popularly known as OLUWA continues to give back more development projects to the communities within his constituency in fulfillment of his promise to address the development needs of the people.
His ability to respond swiftly to the demands and development needs of the people has to a large extent made him an “icon” in the eyes of majority of the people, and also gained much acceptability in most of the communities.
This was evident when the Chiefs and people of Akyem Akroso a community in the Asene Manso Akroso District openly showcased their exhilaration at the handing over of site to a contractor to build an ultra modern market by the Member of Parliament in collaboration with the District Assembly.
The Community had been in a dire need of a market for decades now following their huge population.
At a colourful durbar to hand over the site to the contractor , the Chief of Akroso, Nana Kwabena Ofori 11 commended the MP for his support and fulfilling the promise he made to the people during his campaign .
The Chief noted that even though the ruling government through the District Assembly and MP had supported the community with a lot of projects, the construction of the market was one most important legacy he and his people would forever remember.
The District Chief Executive for Asene Manso Akroso Aex Inkoom who represent the MP speaking to the media after the programme said the market is expected to boost the district’s local economy and improve the living standard of its people.According to him the first phase of the project is expected to be completed in 5 months.
He charged the contractor of the project, Jaycee Company Limited, to complete it in 5 months.
