In a remarkable of compassion and development, a United Kingdom-based Comfort Foundation has brought renewed hope to several rural

communities in Ghana by providing clean and accessible drinking water. The organisation, through its founder, Beverley Asieduah Annan-Forson, has commissioned four new

boreholes for communities in the Central and Eastern regions, marking another milestone in its mission to improve the lives of the underprivileged. The beneficiary communities, Odumase and Amanfrom, had for years struggled with access to potable water, forcing residents, including children, to walk long distances daily in search of water from unsafe sources. The situation exposed many to waterborne diseases such as cholera and typhoid fever. However, the recent commissioning of the boreholes, held on Tuesday, and led by Nana Effah

Opinamang III, the traditional leader of the area, has now changed this narrative.Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Annan Forson reaffirmed her dedication to improving the living conditions of disadvantaged communities, particularly children and women in deprived areas. She emphasised that access to clean water and proper sanitation was not a luxury but a basic human right that every Ghanaian deserved. The new boreholes are expected to serve hundreds of residents, offering relief to families and improving sanitation and hygiene across the communities.

Interventions

This intervention adds to a growing list of 14 boreholes commissioned by the Comfort Foundation in 14 different Ghanaian communities, underscoring the organization’s consistent commitment to social welfare and community development. Beyond providing water, Beverley Annan-Forson’s philanthropic outreach extended to local schools, where her team — including Comfort Foundation directors Faustina and Edmund Sackey — distributed school bags and learning materials to pupils. The

foundation also undertook the construction of a new toilet facility designed to serve over 800 schoolchildren, addressing another pressing need in the community’s educational infrastructure. Founded in the UK by Beverley Asieduah AnnanForson, Comfort Foundation has, over the years, established itself as a beacon of hope for the poor and marginalized. The charity focuses on improving education, healthcare, and sanitation in underserved regions, driven by its mission to restore dignity and opportunity to the less privileged.
