The family of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has publicly affirmed that Priscilla Ofori (Odo Broni) is recognised as his wife and dismissed the claims made by Akosua Serwah Fosuh.

In a letter dated October 1, 2025, signed by Fati Ali-Yallah of Baba Jamal & Associates, attorneys representing the Fosu Royal Family of Parkoso and Nsuta stated that they act on behalf of the family and that Akosua Serwah has no authority to dictate how funeral proceedings or estate matters should be handled.

The legal team alleges that Akosua Serwah, who was once married to Daddy Lumba, abandoned her spouse by refusing to relocate to Ghana when his health declined about 15 years ago. They also contend that she presented traditional drinks to symbolically dissolve their marriage, an act they argue is recognised under Akan customary law.

On the other hand, the family emphasizes that Odo Broni cohabited with Daddy Lumba for over 15 years and bore him six children — a relationship they say gives her rightful spousal status in the eyes of the family.

Regarding the late musician’s assets, the lawyers clarified that all properties constitute part of his estate. They underscored that the estate should be administered jointly by the family and Daddy Lumba’s children to guarantee equitable distribution. Parties are warned to refrain from interfering with these assets until a lawful and fair process is finalised.

Additionally, the firm revealed that they have in their possession instructions from Daddy Lumba prior to his passing — guidelines the family intends to follow concerning funeral arrangements and estate management.

The Fosu Royal Family, through their legal counsel, is calling for calm and urging all stakeholders — especially Akosua Serwah — to engage in peaceful dialogue to ensure that the iconic musician’s burial is carried out with dignity.
