Sara Adwoa Safo, Minister of State in-charge of Public Procurement

Delegates of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency on Monday picked nomination forms for the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area ahead of the party’s primaries slated for April 25.
The delegates, including polling station executives, electoral area coordinators and constituency officers, say the MP has represented them well enough and so do not see the reason to change her.

Presenting the forms to Ms Safo, the delegates stated that the MP has proven to be a good leader and a mother for all, hence will prefer her to lead the party into the 2020 general election in the constituency.

The delegates, before going to Ms Safo’s residence, following the purchase of the forms, embarked on a funfair walk through the principal streets of the constituency. Starting the walk from the party’s constituency office at Kwabenya, the joyous crowd moved through key suburbs in the constituency, including Haatso, Dome, Taifa, and St. John’s.
The MP, who had just returned from an official trip abroad, joined the jubilant crowd upon hearing of their arrival to have some fun before listening to their mission to her house.

Hard work

An electoral area coordinator, Jessy Larbi, presenting the nomination forms to the MP, said: “We, the constituency executives, and all polling stations executives have resolved that you are the one we are going to vote for to represent our interest in Parliament; that is why we made a contribution to buy the nomination forms for you.”
“If four more for Nana, then four more of Adwoa,” he added.

The constituency youth organiser, David Obiri-Yeboah, said they are overwhelmed with the numerous projects ongoing in the constituency, and therefore cannot wait for the MP to represent them for a third time.
“You have been tried and tested and proven your mettle. As a result of this, we the polling stations and some constituency executives, numbering over 600, have decided to contribute some money and pick the nomination forms for you.

“We have also decided to pay the filing fee for you. Considering the sacrifices you have made for us, it is time for us to also show some gratitude,” he stated.
Receiving the forms, Ms Safo said she was overwhelmed by the gesture, and assured the delegates that she will lead them into another resounding victory in the December general elections.
