The DCE for Asene Manso Akroso Mr Alex Nkoom, has stated that as waste is generated every day, Ghanaians have an obligation to keep the environment clean every day, indicating that the citizenry have to do so daily, and not on a monthly basis.
According to Hon Inkoom, “EVERY DAY IS SANITATION DAY”. I recognize, however, that the government cannot do it alone. This is where I wish to call on all of us, especially our Chiefs and Queen Mothers, religious and opinion leaders, civil society organisations, private sector operators, to rise up to the challenge and help make a difference this time around.”
Hon Alex Nkoom made this known on Friday, 6th March, 2020, at the 63rd independence day celebration at Akim Akroso.
He assured residents in the district of his administration’s commitment to bring more developments to the district.
He said, the Assembly had initiated numerous projects including the construction of health center at Yaw Donkor ,Suponso .
He said, the Assembly will continue to invest and improve the standard of education in the district.
He said the Assembly had planned to increase school infrastructure, teacher’s quarters, provision of furniture as well as teaching and learning materials.
The DCE said, over 100 students have received financial support and scholarships from the member of parliament Hon George Kwame Aboagye as a way of helping and motivating the serious students in the district.
Mr Inkoom commended the efforts of the Member of Parliament for Asene Manso Akroso for assisting in hooking over 30 communities in the district to the national grid.
The DCE said the Assembly intended to put in more efforts to improve the health, environment, water and sanitation of the people, improve the local economy as well as revenue mobilization.
