According to Mr Konadu, the call by the NDC General Secretary is being made out of mischief, with a calculated intention of scoring cheap political point.
He said experts have stated that people who have the virus in their systems start showing signs within two weeks, questioning why Mr Nketia is calling for a test now, after over a month of their return and showing no symptoms of the pandemic.
“We left Norway on February 27. Before we left there, there was not a single case of Covid-19 in the country. The first case of Covid-19 was tested in Norway a week after we had all left there. How could any of us be affected when we were not there at the time of the country recording its first case?” Mr Konadu asked.
President, aides test negative
Meanwhile, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and close appointees, as well as all members of his household, have tested negative for the virus.
The tests were conducted after the President had announced the directive for all persons who arrived in the country after March 3 to undergo mandatory testing.
Included in those who were tested are the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Opare-Osei; Nana Bediatuo Asante, Executive Secretary to the President; Francis Asenso Boakye, Samuel Abu Jinapor, both Deputy Chiefs of Staff; Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at Jubilee House; and Saratu Atta, Personal Assistant to the President.
Ghana’s delegation to Norway was led by the President, and he was accompanied by majority of his close aides who have all tested negative for the virus.
