Mrs Christiana Agyapong, wife of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong
Mrs Christiana Agyapong, wife of presidential aspirant Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has reaffirmed her husband’s long-standing commitment to empowering Ghanaian youth through strategic job creation and entrepreneurship.
Addressing a gathering of women delegates from Nkoranza North and South in the Bono East Region, Mrs Agyapong said her husband’s political ambition is rooted in a vision to build a self-reliant and industrious nation where young people have access to sustainable livelihoods rather than relying on scarce government jobs.
Job Creation
According to Mrs Agyapong, her husband’s journey exemplifies self-made entrepreneurship and service through enterprise. Long before aspiring to the presidency, she noted, Hon. Agyapong had built a business empire spanning media, manufacturing, agriculture, real estate, security services, and tourism — ventures that currently employ thousands of Ghanaians nationwide.
She highlighted the positive ripple effects of his enterprises, especially in communities struggling with unemployment. “His story is not about words; it’s about action,” she said.
“He has been creating jobs and building businesses that sustain families and communities.”
Mrs Agyapong described her husband as a leader who understands the mechanics of job creation, the value chain of industry, and the discipline needed to make Ghanaian industries competitive globally.
Agenda for Growth
During the engagement, Mrs Agyapong outlined Hon. Agyapong’s proposed national development agenda, centred on industrialisation, agro-processing, entrepreneurship, and support for local manufacturing.
She cited his commitment to establish large-scale factories in strategic production zones, including fertiliser plants in the northern regions, as a practical solution to youth unemployment and a pathway to enhanced food security and export revenue.
Mrs Agyapong further explained that her husband envisions a regionally balanced economic model, where every part of Ghana leverages its unique comparative advantage, from mechanised agriculture in the north, tourism and hospitality growth along the coast, and textile and craftsmanship revival in Ashanti, to digital innovation hubs in major cities.
“The goal,” she said, “is to make young people find hope, purpose, and success here in Ghana, not abroad.”
Skills Development
Mrs Agyapong assured delegates that Hon. Agyapong is determined to invest in both skills and opportunity, expanding technical and vocational education, providing capital support for startups, and enforcing local content participation so Ghanaian entrepreneurs benefit from the country’s economic prospects.
She noted that the plan would strengthen the link between education and employability, ensuring that young people acquire practical skills suited to Ghana’s evolving industrial landscape.
Appeal for Support
Encouraging the women to rally behind her husband’s presidential bid, Mrs Agyapong praised Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s loyalty to the party grassroots and his genuine concern for working families.
“Ken stays awake at night thinking about how to create more jobs and improve the lives of ordinary Ghanaians,” she said. “He believes that through enterprise and innovation, we can transform this country.”
The meeting in Nkoranza formed part of Mrs Agyapong’s nationwide engagements with women’s groups, aimed at rallying support for a leadership style anchored in bold ideas, economic empowerment, and generational opportunity.
She concluded by urging delegates to support a candidate whose vision for Ghana is rooted in results, discipline, and inclusive prosperity.
