The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to hold its Annual National Delegates Conference on Saturday, July 19, 2025, a landmark event described by party leaders as a defining moment in the party’s journey toward internal renewal and national leadership.

Addressing the media ahead of the conference, Mr. Richard Ahiagba, the NPP’s National Communications Director, emphasized the constitutional significance of the gathering, referencing *Article 10, Clause 1 and Clause 6* of the NPP Constitution, which enshrines the Annual Delegates Conference as the supreme governing body of the party.

This is not just another conference,” Mr. Ahiagba said. “It is the apex of decision-making in our party, and this year, it carries the weight of years of pending reforms and the charge to re-engineer our path forward.”

Among the key items to be deliberated:

The National Chairman’s Statement
General Secretary’s Report
National Treasurer’s Statement of Accounts
A significant bundle of constitutional amendments, including those carried forward from the 2019 Kumasi Conference, recommendations from the Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye Committee Report on the 2024 General Elections, and new proposals from members.

According to Mr. Ahiagba, the purpose of these amendments is to reshape, rebuild, and reposition the NPP as the *political party of choice for Ghanaians.

Conference Theme: “Reconnecting with Our Roots – Rebuilding on Our Values”

The official theme—unveiled at the press interaction—is a rallying call for the party to return to its foundational principles of *rule of law, individual liberty, private enterprise, limited government, cultural preservation*, and *democracy*.

“We must reconnect with the standards and values that made the NPP the pride of Ghana,” Ahiagba asserted. “Our forebears stood for freedom and justice, even under the tyranny of the PNDC, and those values must again define our direction.”

He also took the opportunity to critique the NDC government’s cancellation of the One District, One Factory (1D1F) program, calling it a short-sighted reversal of Ghana’s industrialization drive, and questioned the feasibility of the current administration’s “24-Hour Economy” plan.

A Call for Unity and Purpose

Mr. Ahiagba ended his address with a strong appeal for party unity, quoting Henry Ford: *“If everyone moves forward together, success takes care of itself.”*

“The message is clear: Unity is the way forward. The NPP is committed to rebuilding as a cohesive force dedicated to the service and advancement of Ghana.”

The planning and communications committees, including key party figures like Hon. Joe Osei Owusu (Joe Wise) and Henry Nana Boakye, were commended for their hard work in preparing for the conference.

As the party prepares to host delegates from across the country, expectations are high that this conference will mark a pivotal moment of renewal, with the NPP recommitting to its core values, re-energizing its grassroots base, and charting a new course toward the 2028 elections and beyond.
