Obiri-Adjei Michael, a presidential aspirant of the Ghana School of Law (GSL) Student Representative Council (SRC), has come out on top of all candidates contesting in this year’s SRC election after the vetting exercise conducted by the Vetting Committee of the SRC Electoral Commission.
Obiri-Adjei Michael secured 89.86% of the vetting results, highlighting his understanding of student leadership and the issues confronting the GSL SRC, as well as the practicality and realistic nature of his solutions to such challenges.
His 89.86% makes him the highest-scoring candidate of all the candidates contesting for all positions in the SRC, across all four campuses, who went through the vetting processes.
For the SRC President position specifically, his vetting score puts him ahead of all four other candidates, with his closest contender, Nana Opoku Ware, managing 81.40%—a difference of nearly 9 percentage points.
Of the five (5) aspirants for the election, Festus Tetteh Matey, formerly of the GIMPA Law School, scored 76.56%, trailing all other aspirants in the presidential race.
Benjamin Offei-Addo and Emmanuella Tettehashong, two other aspirants in the race, scored 81.17% and 81.14% respectively.
