The Akuse Government Hospital in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in partnership with Sparklers Foundation a UK based Non-governmental organisation on Sunday 4th August, 2019 made several kids and adults with special health conditions in and around Akuse happy.
This all important initiative was introduced by the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. /Mrs. Edna O. Asamoa-Agyare in 2016 where she created special database of patients brought to the hospital with special health issues and relatively from poor homes.
Once or twice a year, she organises a get together for them as various medical services are being provided to them and their guidance as well as several items are also being donated to make the special health patients who seems to be neglected by the system also happy.
This year’s programme which was held on Sunday 4th August, 2019 received an international boost from the Sparklers Foundation which supported the initiative with several items that were distributed to the special health patients and their guidance.
The families yesterday received free medical care with medicines, free renewal of NHIS cards, clothings, toys, food and drinks among others.
In an interview with the CEO of Sparklers Foundation, Mrs. Harriet Awuah Agbenowu expressed her joy after having interaction with several of these special kids and their families which she said has challenged her to work hard in this collaboration efforts with the Akuse Government Hospital to do more for this people to make them happy and she assured that they will do more this year as she concluded by applauding the efforts of Dr./Mrs. Edna O. Asamoa-Agyare for initiating this special programme which is highly humanitarian.
