Miss Abigail Afrankoma Gyimah

A Deputy Communication Officer for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Akwatia constituency, Miss Abigail Afrankoma Gyimah has encouraged young women to involve themselves in active political activities. She stated that aside from the fact that such actions from women put them on the ‘decision-making table”, it also gives young women the needed exposure they require to effect change in the society.

She said that women should not underestimate themselves in decision making since they have what it takes to also make the needed changes. Referencing the popular cliche “What men can do, women can do better”, Ms. Gyimah charged the women to get actively involved in the ongoing limited voters registration exercise and the upcoming parliamentary primaries within the political parties.

 

Kidnapping

Ms. Gyimah who was speaking to the eveningmailgh.com at Akwatia called on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the security agencies in the country to hasten the processes in rescuing the Takoradi Kidnapped young ladies. “Since I am a woman, I am calling on the government to hasten action on kidnapping issues in the country.” She told the eveningmailgh.com.

 

NDC Primaries

Meanwhile, the Constituency Chairman for the NDC in the Akwatia constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr Awal Moro,  has advised delegates, aspirants and the entire constituency to desist from violence during the upcoming parliamentary primaries.

 

Flash Point

Chairman BB  as the chairman is popularly known in the political cycle said due to the peaceful manner the people of the Akwatia Constituency conducted themselves in the 2016 general election,  the name of the constituency has been wiped off from the lists of flash points in Ghana. He stated that such such feat chalked should therefore be jealously protected by all the people of the constituency.

He added that politics is just a contest of ideas and as such violence should have no root in it.

 

Unity

Mr. Moro has therefore called for unity among party sympathizers saying unity is the surest way for the party to win the 2020 general election.

 

Limited Registration

Mr. Moro also encouraged the youth who are 18 years and above to get themselves involved in the ongoing limited voters registration.
